Why does such a small change in posture have such an effect on ones overall health?? Because the invisible centre of gravity lines should traverse through the weight bearing bones of the skeletal system when standing. With a tiny change in posture, this gravity line falls out from within the load bearing structures and instead runs through the visceral organs, ‘pipes’, ‘cables’ and fascia of the body. The pipes are your arteries, veins and lymph vessels, the cables are the nerves. And when these structures especially the organs become weight bearing on a long term basis, then they need to harden and contract in order to sustain an upright position. Hardening of each or any of these tissues lead to changes in their composition, structure and function. By changing the posture, one can have effects on the body cavities and tissues within them that can seem nothing short of miraculous.Osteopaths have long understood the importance of a soft, subtle, flexible structure, allowing easy three-dimensional movement, especially of the long-lever limbs.Of course we shouldn’t need to have treatment from any physical therapist in order to maintain or restore comfort, stability and ease. It’s lovely to have treatment, but it costs too! But unless you’re engaging in daily, three-dimensional, repetitive movements especially those behind the centre of gravity line, then the body will be left to do the best it can with what it has to deal with. So get to increasing your variable and integrative full body movements. However, if you don’t understand, but you’re intrigued by the philosophy, get in touch and I can give you some help, guidance and treatment that can start the process of restoring your posture and it’s corresponding functions. Knowledge is power. And self empowered Heath-care is what we should all strive for. #osteopathy #classicalosteopathy #gravity #force #line #mechanics #arcitecture #health #movement #movnat #natural #naturecure #naturalhygiene #bones #fascia #body #healthy #naturopath #lifestyleconsultant #heathcare #inspire #educate #teach @instituteofclassicalosteopathy @wemove.world @movnat @uco_london @healthcollaborated ... "I allow myself to hope that the world will emerge from its present troubles, that it will one day learn to give the direction of its affairs, not to cruel swindlers and scoundrels, but to men possessed of wisdom and courage. I see before me a shining vision: a world where none are hungry, where few are ill, where work is pleasant and not excessive, where kindly feeling is common, and where minds released from fear create delight for eye, ear and heart. Do not say this is impossible. It is not impossible. I do not say it can be done tomorrow, but I do say that it could be done within a thousand years, if only men would bend their minds to the achievement of the kind of happiness that should be distinctive of man."— Bertrand Russell, Human Society in Ethics and Politics (1954), Part II: The Conflict of Passions, Ch. 10, Prologue or Epilogue?, p. 238 ...
